About Imphenzia

Imphenzia emerged in 1997 as the new name of a music project previously called “Elite Beat”. The Imphenzia name has no real meaning and it was created for the sole purpose of being unique on the Internet, therefore making it easy for a potential audience to search for any music or information on the internet with a high probability of it being related to this project. Since 1997, a total of 60 tracks have been released which can also be found on four albums.

As a way to promote the music, the game “Beat Ball” was created and released. Beat Ball is a freeware game (based on the classic arcade games Breakout & Arkanoid) and it features 30 minutes of music by Imphenzia. This turned out to be an excellent way to expand the audience for the music and the game is still to this day downloaded over 30′000 times every month. Following the success of Beat Ball, interest and feedback lead to the creation of more games to form the side project now known as “Imphenzia Games”.

Imphenzia consists of only one person, responsible for the creation of all music, games and websites.

About Me

My real name is Stefan Persson, a plain boring Swedish name… maybe I should have come up with a stage name =) As the founder and only member of Imphenzia, much of my time is taken up by;

  • Making music
  • Creating albums and artwork
  • Developing games (including programming, graphics and sound)
  • Developing and maintaining websites
  • Promoting music and games

Taking the above into consideration, my other hobbies are Motocross, Online Racing (co-founder of Nordic Racing Group at www.nordicracing.net), Photography (pictures available at http://www.flickr.com/photos/imphy) , Playing Online Poker, Drawing, Gym and other exercise… at the same time as I work as an IT Manager and consultant, living in an older house requiring renovation with with my lovely and understanding wife.

 Needless to say, I’ve never had the feeling of “I wish I had something to do” - but rather the opposite, I wish the day had 48 hours (if even that would be enough =).

    Hubby got me something for Xmas I had wanted for years. Even considered finding some space to set up my old Atari 1064 for: Arkanoid! Or as you call it, Beatball! Oh! Takes me right back. Sitting there with a big grin on my silly face. Thanks for ‘translating’ it.

    Kind regards,
